Like Mother like Daughter

what a great day--have been in the store at the village today getting caught up on a few things while Marc and Selena have been out shooting a cute family and then a bride and groom.  Marc told me today that a photographer left a whole bag of lens at the location they were at.  Luckily, Marc knew the photog who left them and was able to get a hold of him!  Woozers!!!

this cute pic is of one of the store owners at the village and her daughters.  They came in for the cutest five generation pictures with great great grandma (who was 90 years old) and on down--what a treat.  We told them to say "grandma is a hottie" and what fun it is to see three grandmas laugh at the same time!!!

well, heading out for the night.  got to go to the store to buy "stuff" for camp for my daughter.  stuff. stuff. stuff.

what if a missionary KNOCKED at your door and looked like this?

so, the title says it all--what a rockin' sista missionary LS is going to be-with purple nail polish, sunglasses and a personality too die for, wouldn't you open your door for her?!

Yes, we did get some beautiful pictures in the studio that look like a sister missionary, and then...WE had a little bit of fun with her. she joked later that she did pictures with the scriptures opened, but put her own twist on it--gotta luv girls with some spice to them!

she gets her mission call soon--hope it is with some African tribe in the jungle--she would be great!

lil' boy BLUE

if only I was as gorgeous as this little guy!!! Mom came in and did a Village Special with us to celebrate his one year old birthday--can you imagine if age has done him this well--imagine how cute he will be in a few more years. I can hear those little one year old girls hearts beating now!

We are so excited to be shooting this little guy and his sister for our Urban Kid Shoot coming up on Saturday, July 18th! Can't wait!
oh yeah--the pic of him looking for someone--yes, he is looking for me--oh where oh where did Mindy go!

the hills are alive...

A few days ago, we headed up to take pics of one of our cute clients' kids and grandkids. We were able to go up to Albion Basin and see how the wildflowers are coming--we are just getting so excited about our wildflower shoots at the end of the month. The kids were so cute--the older ones thought they were models and the two knew she was the boSS.
FYI--we just opened up 5 more slots for Wildflowers on Saturday, August 8th--call now to get in at 801-569-1749.

Let's Be Friends!

Thanks to Selena over at Highlite Photography--we are now on facebook--whoot woo! So, since we love giving away goodies over here--our 100th fan will win something yummy from Highlite Photography!!!

We have added quite a few facebook fans, but want to repost this!  I am thrilled to be posting some new pics soon....so, just wait--they are good!!!

Also, I had a very teaching moment yesterday.  We had a dear family who had scheduled next Tuesday evening to do pictures with Highlite Photography.  However, one of their sweet children was suddenly put on lifesupport and they have no idea of what is to come.  It made me think of how priceless family pictures are--they aren't family pictures unless we are all there.  Gosh, my heart just aches for them.  I have hugged my kids all last night, hugged them before I went to work and spent just a little extra time with them.  Life is so short; treasure your family!!!

We're BACK!

After a fabulous vacation to Lake Powell, we are back safe and sound! I have pics to share soon, but thought I would quickly blog and say hello!

Lake Powell for me is really a spiritual journey everytime I go. Some people go to kick back, relax and chill. I really go to contemplate the past year, write out new goals and heal any wrong that needed some attention. and then...I have a blast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, here is my top ten list of DISCOVERIES...

10. Lizards crawling inside the houseboat are as scary as a mouse in the house!

9. When you are out swimming in the lake, be careful not to pull a fishing line--you could end up pulling out a dead lizard on a hook (true story--happened to Christi)!

8. Angie from Good Things Utah is a joy to listen to at 10 a.m. on the weekday mornings, but not so enjoyable when she is djs the latest singles talent show at 1 a.m.on a loud sound system on the next houseboat over.

7. When the greatest rebellion comes from eating the cashews and M&Ms from the trailmix and leaving the raisins, you know the week is going to be great.

6. Read the most perfect book for the trip--Eat, Pray and Love--loved it!

5. Found great comfort and guidance in archetype cards, from the chronos to the cosmic, luvin' it!

4. Realized that not being able to go to the bathroom can be a very painful experience!

3. Bought a shirt that said, "Rest, ride, relax, repeat"--now that is a spiritual manifestation!

2. Saw my girls waterski, attempt to wakeboard and tubing--no greater joy comes from seeing them be determined!

1. CONQUERED a 14 year old fear!!! Fourteen years ago, we were in Lake Powell and went cliff jumping. I got so freaked out by a jump, that I never was able to jump again. This year, I decided I needed some mental toughness and, I DID IT!!! I have some pics I will post later. So so proud that I was able to overcome it!
